Autism Walk

I just wanted to give a shout out to Christina for all her hard work organizing our team for the Autism Speaks walk! Our family had a great time. I didn't realize how passionately I would feel about it, but it was really quite inspiring to see all those people come together for one common cause. I certainly wouldn't choose for my child to have autism, but I am grateful for all the wonderful people I have met because of autism.
This is a picture of my husband, Chris, with Chase (aren't those shirts cute =). I thought it would be fun to share. I also wanted to show an example of some of the fun things we can do with this blog.

September YFDWD Meeting

YFDWD Blog

We've been talking about setting up a website for a while now. I thought that a blog might be a good format for us. I took a little intiative, and I set one up. I thought we could give it a try. The nice thing about the blog is any of us can post on it, and any of us can comment on it. So if we have an announcement, we can post. If we just want to share some encouraging (or discouraging news for that matter) we can do it here. Also, we can post articles, recipes or share ideas. The one down-side, is that we may want to be careful about what information we share. Anyone can visit this blog. A good idea is to use first names only. It also may be a good idea not to post addresses and phone numbers, or even school names -- just for safety reasons. Let me know what you think. We can also add people at any time, I just need to send them an invitation.
